It's perfectly readable outside in direct sunlight too, as long as you've got brightness set to auto.

MIUI's key strength is in the design of its home and lock screens, with the icon sets doing a great job of adding uniformity, colour and style to the Android core.

Xiaomi Mi 3 review

by Gary Cutlack |

Not noisy at all, plus skin tones and fine details like hair are captured well.
Greens are green, blues are blue, and detail levels, even on difficult grassy areas, are good.
Still, at INR 14,000 ($230 / €170) the Xiaomi Mi 3 is nothing to sneeze at – it has a 5" 1080p screen, Snapdragon 800 chipset and a 13MP / 1080p camera.
Xiaomi's pricing strategy for storage is very aggressive – the 64GB model was recently cut to just $50 over the 16GB model.
Xiaomi also plans to bring its cheaper models, the Redmi 1S and Redmi Note, to India - though that will only happen sometime next month.
Unfortunately for them, it's quite unlikely that the mobile device maker will actually have 100,000 Mi 3 units on hand to sell tomorrow.
It is important to note that while the Xiaomi phones don't come with the Play Store and Google apps in China, they will support them in India.
The phone packs a 5.0-inch, 1920x1080 resolution IPS panel from LG or Sharp, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with quad-core 2.3GHz CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (non-expandable), 13 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 3050mAh battery and MIUI 5 on Android 4.3.
