The whole user interface was improved as well, which was a nice touch forward, although it still over-complicates things.

We were showing off the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to friends, and one avid iPhone user commented that it was a far nicer size than the S4, and a lot easier to use, especially one-handed.

Reviews Word on the street for the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini

We are genuinely impressed by how light, thin, and extremely portable the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is considering the fact that it packs a 4.3-inch screen and a 1900mAh battery.

It's not a megapixel monster or anything, but the images it produces have a natural look to them, with nice colours and plenty of detail.

Tabbed browsing and incognito browsing are available in both browsers, but making new bookmarks in Samsung's own browser is slightly easier than in Chrome.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

We also think that the 4.3-inch diagonal also makes it the perfect size for those who find the 5-inch screens on modern flagship smartphones too imposing.
by TechRadar (Aug, 2013)
That said, we still struggle to call it a letdown, with the Super AMOLED screen still being bright and vibrant despite its lower ppi.
by TechRadar (Aug, 2013)
Another area that has taken a lick of paint over and above the standard Android and previous TouchWiz iterations is the lock screen.
by TechRadar (Aug, 2013)

Gaming on the Samsung Galaxy S4 is handled by the Adreno 320 GPU, which can still work its magic when it comes to giving smooth, real to life gaming on the go.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2014)
When it comes to bundled apps, don't go expecting to find a raft of S-branded apps.
by TechRadar (Aug, 2013)
What we did find though, is that the music wasn't quite synced perfectly.
by PocketLint (Jul, 2013)

Open up the video player and you are greeted with a very attractive grid of your videos.
by TechRadar (Aug, 2013)
One of the more prominent settings here is the dual shot mode, which snaps a photo with both cameras and presents them picture-in-picture style (think video call).
by GSM Arena (May, 2013)
You've also got a side link to the videos you've downloaded from Samsung's Video Hub, which makes it a complete and integrated video experience within one app.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2014)

The processor of the Galaxy S4 mini is a dual-core, 1.7GHz chip of the Snapdragon variety, the screen's resolution has been brought down to just 540 by 960 pixels, and the main camera has been downgraded to 8 megapixels.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2013)
Panoramas are nice, they do a full 360° circle, but the resolution is not that impressive.
by GSM Arena (May, 2013)
As for the different camera modes, it's a collection of some of the best camera features currently available.
by GSM Arena (May, 2013)

Battery life: The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini packs a 1900mAh removable battery – a capacity that is above the average considering the smartphone's class.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2013)
It's a good way to manage your battery even easier.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2014)
It uses the proximity sensor to detect you reaching for the device and will light up the screen to show the time, missed call and message counters, battery charge and music track info.
