Even more so, when you consider that its ClearBlack screen is excellently bright and provides very good contrast, as testified by the measurements in our test.
by GSM Arena (Apr, 2013)
The contrast is obviously no match for AMOLED, but the screen is pretty good nonetheless.

Reviews Word on the street for the Nokia Lumia 720

9.0
One thing we really appreciate about this ClearBlack LCD display is that it is easily visible when viewed outdoors.

8.0
There's no text reflow built into Internet Explorer though, so once you've zoomed in to read an article you'll find yourself feverishly sliding sideways as well as down to read all the text.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Screen

The 2.4” QVGA screen is nothing spectacular, though we’re probably just spoiled by all the eye-popping smartphone screens on display today.
by GSM Arena (Feb, 2013)
Obviously, the 720's camera is far from perfect, but we do enjoy the photos it captures, as they have good contrast, nicely-saturated colors and decent amount of detail.
by PhoneArena (Apr, 2013)
Considering the screen size, the less than perfect use of the available space is something you can quite easily live with, even if you don't have particularly large hands.
by GSM Arena (Apr, 2013)

Camera

The resolution might sound strange at first, that's how much you get in 16:9 mode from Nokia's "8MP" cameras (which actually have an 8.7MP sensor).
by GSM Arena (Feb, 2013)
The camera on the rear of the 720 is a pretty decent offering allowing you to take some solid snaps - although make sure the lighting is good - and the ability to download extra lenses is a nice feature.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)
Image quality on the whole is pretty good and you'll be able to take some decent snaps with the Lumia 720.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)

Apps

The standard Windows Phone menu keys lie in wait below the display, housed in a swath of black bezel while above the screen is a 1.3MP wide angle camera, allowing you to have video chats with your nearest and dearest.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)
It's a great way to discover new music and new artists, find out more about the tunes and singers you love and considering you get it all for free it's an immensely impressive offering - and for that we applaud Nokia.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)
You can also play your own music with this app and purchase albums and individual songs to add to your collection.
by GSM Arena (Apr, 2013)

Video

So, the interface should be pretty familiar by now, but here it is on video anyway.
by GSM Arena (Apr, 2013)
Sure the resolution can't match the HD wonders we have in premium smartphones, but it's not that bad.
by PhoneArena (Apr, 2013)
You can toggle the light on and off, but only when you're not recording, fiddle with the white balance and choose between 720p and WVGA recording quality.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)

Resolution

At first, we were pleasantly surprised by the lush colors and decent sharpness visible in the Lumia 720's photos.
by PhoneArena (Apr, 2013)
You can tell the screen on the Lumia 720 does suffer a little thanks to its resolution, with images not looking as clear, and text not quite as sharp.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2013)
An interesting detail about the Lumia 720 is that it's available in a bunch of colors: white, red, yellow, cyan and black.
