Reviews Word on the street for the Motorola Moto G

8.8
More than audible to the ear, its quality is pleasantly complemented by its high-toned and crisp audio output.

10.0
The images it produced were full of detail, sharp and the colours brilliant.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Screen

Additionally, images are more noisy looking – while fine details become extremely subdued.
by PhoneArena (Sep, 2014)
Naturally it works well with agreeable lighting conditions, but under low lighting, we’re detracted by the overall under exposed look with our shots – essentially masking details.
by PhoneArena (Dec, 2013)
The colours and detail make them look good enough to eat.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)

Network technology

On one hand, it’s spectacular that the Moto G is unlocked from the onset, but the downside is that it lacks 4G LTE connectivity.
by PhoneArena (Dec, 2013)
Our particular review unit is a GSM model that’s meant to play nicely in the US, seeing that it supports the 850, 1700 (AWS), and 1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA+ bands.
by PhoneArena (Sep, 2014)
Yes, it’s lacking several things we believe nowadays as being standard, like 4G LTE connectivity and 1080p video recording, but nevertheless, those are just some of the small compromises that Motorola needed to make in order to deliver its product.
by PhoneArena (Dec, 2013)

Battery

Working with a 2070 mAh battery, it’s a small capacity no doubt, but at least we’re pleased with what it’s able to crank out.
by PhoneArena (Dec, 2013)
There are only a couple of extras Motorola has added and those are Moto Migrate and Moto Assist, as well as a handy battery saver option in the menu.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)
It's good going for a smartphone so we don't want to be too hard on it, but to manage 24 hours of mixed use, we suspect you can't do much at all.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)

Camera

The rear camera is 5-megapixel and the front camera comes in at 1.3-megapixels.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)
To be more exact, it now features a larger 8-megapixel snapper in the rear with an f2.0 aperture lens – and also a higher 2-megapixel one on the front.
by PhoneArena (Sep, 2014)
The Moto G was designed with a focus on comfort and we are impressed by how good it feels to hold.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)

Apps

Raw Android's contact handling isn't as integrated or exciting as that from Samsung or HTC, for example, but you can just add apps and get the Android experience you want.
by PocketLint (Feb, 2014)
Out of the box, we’re given all of the staple Google apps we come to expect from any device running the stock experience.
by PhoneArena (Sep, 2014)
Once you have set it up, the app uses your Google calendar to figure out when you are in a meeting and sets your device up to avoid disruptions.
