Reviews Word on the street for the HTC Sensation XL

7.0
On the other hand, the Super LCD screen has good viewing angles and rich colors, plus it is adequately visible outside - something we don’t usually associate with HTC’s smartphones.

7.0
It's even nice and crisp, despite being pretty big with a lower resolution than its Sensation siblings, and video looks great on it.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Screen

Resolution aside, the screen is one of the best we've seen by HTC - it has brilliant viewing angles (there's some minor contrast loss, but that's it) and colors are very vivid.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
You can play the Flash content in full screen and landscape mode, which makes the most out of the display.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
They run quickly, and there's plenty of space and nice big text on the 4.7-inch screen.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2011)

Apps

The Sensation XL's browser also supports double tap zooming and text reflow, which makes even longer texts extremely easy to read on the phone display.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
You can mass delete emails or mark them as read too (you can't perform other operations en masse like you can in Gmail though).
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
We'd prefer a better rocker on a music-centric phone, to easily adjust the volume while the handset is in our pocket.
by PhoneArena (Nov, 2011)

Video

Movies, picture and even the UI itself look more impressive on the XL than they do on the XE, despite the higher resolution of the latter.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
Video files can be accessed in the All videos subfolder in the Gallery.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
Unlike the still camera, videos from the Sensation XL and the Titan are close in terms of quality (though the Titan did hit a higher frame rate of 30fps).
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)

Ports

The HTC Sensation XL is one multimedia beast with its Dr. Dre-inspired audio, impressively spec'd camera and huge display and it's also keen to give users the proper smartphone experience with the tried and tested Gingerbread and Sense combo.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
And the Beat audio integration is a great addition, and one that makes the phone stand out.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2011)
The new player interface is nice • Turning Beats Audio on.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)

Audio

As for the HTC Sensation XL performance with headphones plugged in, it's pretty good, but not quite as impressive.
by GSM Arena (Nov, 2011)
And you can mix it all into one note, with association of when written notes are made to a corresponding part of an audio recording, so you can skip to the right part of the audio.
by TechRadar (Nov, 2011)
The Beats Audio headphones are solid metal, and also feel really high quality, with the exception of the in-line clicker.
