Messaging: We’ve gone through the new things found with iMessage with our review of iOS 5, but in terms of the overall messaging experience with the iPhone 4S, it’s tastefully excellent in more ways than one thanks to its awesome on-screen keyboard.

But the honest truth is few can match the Retina for its crisp graphics, vibrant colors, deep blacks and remarkable sunlight legibility and viewing angles.

Reviews Word on the street for the Apple iPhone 4s

It’s not AMOLED, but its 326 ppi pixel density and 800:1 contrast ratio are gorgeous and easily viewable both indoors and out.

Showing off its worth, videos are brilliant to watch thanks to their sharp details, gradual exposure, consistent capture of 29 frames per second, natural looking colors, and crystal clear audio recording.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

There won't be differences in hardware or software, but you should still keep in mind that call quality, data and battery performance will vary, depending on the carrier.
by PhoneArena (Oct, 2011)
Of course, we dig the quick page loads when connected to a Wi-Fi network – though, Sprint’s connection is clearly lagging with its speeds.
by PhoneArena (Oct, 2011)
On the other hand, with AT&T’s version of the iPhone 4S, its HSPA speeds are able to theoretically get 14.4 Mbit/s on the down and 5.76 Mbit/s on the uplink.

Music syncing is probably the trickiest part of the iCloud sync.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
The iMessage conversations are color-coded to differ from the standard SMS/MMS - their bubbles are blue instead of green.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
Siri is also a source of entertainment, much like the world's first computer shrink Eliza- try asking Siri "what's the meaning of life" to see what I mean.
by MobileTechReview (Oct, 2011)

Of course Super AMOLED’s and ClearBlack’s had a thing or two to say, but the LED-backlit IPS Retina screen had the highest resolution at 960 x 640 and eye-popping pixel density.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
The things to expect of all this tech are better colors, better noise performance, more sharpness and more precise white balance.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
The chart also provides a visual representation of a display's color accuracy.

Voice commands

In all honesty, Siri is astoundingly efficient in monitoring and organizing all of our daily tasks – and to think more about it, they’re accomplished simply by our voice.
by PhoneArena (Oct, 2011)
And on top of it all, Apple try to take voice recognition to a new level with Siri.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)
Well, we are sure Apple is adding more helpful answers too, but we are sure most of the users are currently using Siri mostly for fun.
by GSM Arena (Oct, 2011)

Much like its predecessor, we’re extremely fond of the quality exhibited by the handset’s upgraded 8-megapixel auto-focus camera, which features backside illumination and a larger f2.4 aperture.
by PhoneArena (Oct, 2011)
Whereas most cell phone cameras are the camera you use in a pinch since it is likely the only one available, the camera on the 4S is good enough that novice to mid-range photographers may actually want to make it their primary camera.
by MobileTechReview (Oct, 2011)
Turning it over, the other major upgrade to the iPhone 4S is found with its higher 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, which features backside illumination and a larger f2.4 aperture.
