And just like all of the previous models, the capacitive display was responsive to the touch which made navigating around the interface a breeze.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2010)
They've copied the multi-touch capacitive display, focused on ease of use, true robust multi-tasking and started their own (still smaller) app markets, particularly Android.

Reviews Word on the street for the Apple iPhone 4

8.0
Given the light loving sensor, videos shot in less bright locations actually look better.

8.6
Employing a streamlined profile (0.37” thick), the handset is perfectly sized to accommodate every hand size – although, it does pack on some noticeable weight (4.83 oz).

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Carrier

Software is likewise the same, and the Verizon iPhone 4 has all the same goodies: Safari web browser, Apple’s email client, the YouTube Player and so on.
by MobileTechReview (Nov, 2018)
Introduction: Plenty of things can change over the course of three years in the mobile world as technology seems to leap new heights constantly when devices are being packed with intricate hardware and an accompanying platform experience to make it gratifying.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2010)
Today, most applications are enabled to take advantage of multi-tasking element found with iOS, and that’s why it works almost seamlessly with the Verizon iPhone 4 – exactly like its AT&T counterpart.
by PhoneArena (Feb, 2011)

Screen

The new display has the same size as those on the previous iPhones (3.5 inches) but the the resolution has been bumped up four times.
by GSM Arena (Jul, 2010)
Thankfully, it steers ahead of the pack as it manages to shine brightly in almost any lighting conditions – even in direct sunlight.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2010)
Pretty much everything under the hood received a major overhaul – we especially love the detailed Retina Display.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2010)

Apps

It's especially good if you like gaming, and the iPhone still reigns as the best mobile gaming platform, bar none.
by MobileTechReview (Jun, 2010)
As long as you have a WiFi connection, you can engage in a video chat with other iPhone 4 owners.
by MobileTechReview (Jun, 2010)
You can also pick and download apps via iTunes and next time you sync your iPhone, you get all the applications on board.
by GSM Arena (Jul, 2010)

Operating system

It suffers from certain problems with its signal reception (at least some units do), call quality is not excellent, photos taken with the 5MP camera are pretty good, but we've seen better, FaceTime is only available via Wi-Fi for the moment, multitasking is yet to be utilized by developers... We can always find a bunch of drawbacks to exploit.
by PhoneArena (Jun, 2010)
As for the multitasking, this is the closest the iPhone has ever gotten but there is no true multitasking, and certainly not for all apps.
by GSM Arena (Jul, 2010)
Bear in mind that not all apps are multitasking enabled.
by GSM Arena (Jul, 2010)

Video

We wouldn’t mind a Samsung Galaxy S either to watch some movies or a Nokia N8 to take some cool pictures and videos.
by GSM Arena (Jul, 2010)
Video file sizes are surprisingly small, our sample video is 40 seconds and 53 megs.
by MobileTechReview (Jun, 2010)
We were impressed by its fast simultaneous connectivity despite sporting pixelated looking video taken from either cameras.
