How fast are the new iPhones compared to the older generations? You’re about to find out.
The folks from EverythingApplePro speed tested every iPhone model side-by-side, with the help of a bunch of extra hands. They tested how long it took for the phones to boot up, shut down, and load a web page on the 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, and 2G.
As expected, for the most part, the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S running iOS 7 are the quickest. The 5S is a little faster than any other model, but likely not enough to justify paying the increased price based on the speed alone.
One interesting thing to note is that every device running iOS 7 (including the 5S and 5C, despite their upgraded hardware) took longer to shut down – though, honestly, how often do you shut your phone down? This likely wouldn’t have much impact on your day-to-day usage.
Will this affect whether or not you run out to upgrade your iPhone? Weigh in in the comments.
